VALEDICTORY.

BROTHERS FAREWELLED. A MATANGI FUNCTION. The Matangi Young Ladies' and Men's Bible Classes combined on Friday evening for the purpose of bidding farewell to Messrs Jim and Bert Enright, who are leaving the district. The gathering was largely attended. The Revs. Leadlcy and Martin were present. Games were indulged in and several enjoyable items were contributed as follows: Pianoforte solo, Albert. Bryant; recitation, Miss .lames; pianoforte solo, Ray Judd; reading, Mr Leslie Bryant; song, Miss D. Martin. Rev. Leadlcy referred to the loss which the Church and the Men's Bible Class were sustaining by the departure of the Enrigbt boys. Jim for a long time had conducted the class, and the splendid gathering of young men that evening was sufficient, testimony to the good work he had done, as well as the esteem with which he was regarded. The two outstanding features in the Church to-day were the Bible class movement and the foreign missions. In saying good-bye to their guests they all felt that wherever the Messrs Enright's lot may be cast the Church would benefit by their presence. Mr Allen Bryant, on behalf of the class, spoke of the deep regret they felt in having to part with the. two boys. They regarded Jim as a model, and his example and teaching had made a great impression upon the lads attending the class. Mr Bryant handed to Jim a Schoflcld Bible, and to Bert a suit-case, both suitably inscribed.

In returning thanks, Mr J. Enright made an earnest appeal to the lads to value the Bible Class and attend as often as possible. His work had been a pleasure, and if he had accomplished any good there he thanked God, whose instrument he was. He would never forget the days spent in Matangi, and wished them all a greater measure of success in the future.

Mr Bert Enright also reponded briefly.

Mr Walter Taylor, the new leader of the Bible Class, asked for support in the work by prayer and sympathy. After the male quartette had given an item ■ supper was served and the Doxology brought the evening to a close.
