RUSSIAN REIS

ACTIVITY IN BRITAIN. CONCENTRATION OF PROPAGANDA EXPLOITING THE COAL TROUBLE. Received June 7, 11.30 a.m. LONDON, June 6. Tho Dally IVlall says the Soviet Is abandoning the world campaign and concentrating on Britain by prolonging the mine stoppage and paralysing other industries in which it Is planning an intensive revolutionary campaign. The Third International has almost stopped its propaganda in Morocco following Krlm’s surrender, and transferred a great amount of money available against France to the British section. Tho Communist organisation has also suspended Its propaganda In tho British Dominions and Colonies, using tho money to Intensify the agitation In Britain. A secret document, which Is in tho Mail's possession, reveals that the Third International allotted £747,080 for propaganda abroad in 1925, of which £42,000 was allocated to the Dominions and Colonies and £162,500 was earmarked for extraordinary subsidies to striko committees, tho latter being part of the £400,000 which has reached England since April. Nevertheless tho money reaching the miners and the headquarters of the Communists is only a small portion of tho funds actually sent to Britain. Large amounts are roaching private persons, whcnco they are passed on through an underground section to British Communists, whose methods are so clandestine that Its members, both men and women, are unknown to some Communist leaders. Scotland Yard is now tracing these subventions. Tho number of persons entering the Soviet Embassy in London carrying bags is larger than of all the King’s messengers in the British service. Special significance is attached to envelopes bearing a red triangle included in tho diplomatic bags, which it is suggested. should not be .Immune from Customs examination as at present. Scotland yard is watching a woman known to receive these envelopes. Sir Alfred Mond, In a letter to the Daily Mall, demands that the Government should publish Information in its possession regarding the activities of Russian agents in Britain. He says that Russian support of the miners not merely prolonged the struggle, but assists the Russian coal trade. The competition of Russian anthracite Is already ousting Welsh coal from the Mediterranean market.

The Dally Mall states that a group of Conservative members of the House of Commons Intend to press for the disclosure of the Information, and unless satisfied will move an adjournment of the House to obtain a debate.
