OWNERS SEEK CONFERENCE. MINERS’ OFFICIALS APPROACHED. (Reuter.} LONDON, June 3. The Morning Post says officials olr the Mining Association (the mineowners’ organisation), have invited officials of Hie Miners’ Federation to meet them with a view lo the possibility of bringing tlic two. executives together under an independent chairman for the purpose of formulating a basis for peace. Tiie Post says: “This is the first real gleam of hope since tiie mines were closed down five weeks ago. Possibly tlic Government or tiie Speaker of the House of Commons will bo asked to nominate the chairman of the proposed conference.”
