DISTRICT COURTS.

HIGHLY COMPREHENSIVE. CREDIT TO ALL CONCERNED. The products of the farm are well represented In the district court exhibits, which make an attractive disi play and are the centre of universal i attention It is evident from the nature , of the produce displayed that all the . districts have a high degree of efflcil ency. Apparently nothing has been : overlooked in the staging of the dis- : play, which is a credit to the districts and the province. Meticulous care has . been paid to the details of arrangement and all the goods arc shown to advantage, i A fine display of jams, pickles and preserves forms the background of the Gordonton court (awarded first prize) in which the home industries are a feature worthy of commendation. Cakes and other samples of cookery add to the attractions of a bright and interesting exhibit. Bacons and hams prbduced in the district are shown, as are some fine specimens of different varieties of fruits. A collection of seeds and roots' has not been overlooked and samples of locally-grown timbers arc featured. The display Is very creditable and the samples of the district's products are excellent. The Killcrcst exhibit, which gained second prize, is full of quality, aJ- ' though the home-crafts display is not : as strong as that of the other courts. : Jellies, jams and preserves again con- ; stitute an important part of the exI hibit. which is supported by several ' samples of wood-carving and marquetry. Apples are shown packed in glass cases, while the remainder of the exhibit is for the most part composed of root crops. A fine display nf roots forms the basis of the Puketaha exhibit, which j was awarded third prize in the district courts' competition, and a special first prize for roots. The sides of the court are decorated with samples of grasses and sewing exhibits, while fruit, wines, preserves and products of the apiary are well featured.
