THE GREAT SHOW

RECORD CROWDS CONTINUE

BIG CRUSH TO-DAY

To-day is the groat day of the Show. Being the anniversary of the birth of His Majesty the King, it is a general holiday and special excursion trains arrived at Hamilton from all directions, These brought in thousands of visitors from distant parts, and at the height of the afternoon, despite the wider avenues and the greater walking space, the huge halls were packed and moving at times was difficult. Yesterday was children's day and something like 10,000 children saw the Show free of charge. The youngsters had a rollicking time and after they had had. their fill of ihe exhibits they gravitated to the amusement park, where they became more wondering still as they listened to the itinerant showmen acclaiming their own shops. Standing outside and listening was, however, as far as many of ihe youngsters got, for a visit to the interior was more than their slender pockets could stand. However, they enjoyed themselves immensely and what they saw at the great Waikato "Winter Show will bo topics of conversations away back in their country homes, for many a long day to come.

To-day the Show Association enI iertained the numerous visiting fac- ; tory managers and other special visitors, by taking them for a motor tour over the district as far as Arapuni. | This was largely attended, the numer- ; ous cars placed at the disposal of the ; visitors being well filled. This afternoon iliere was an exhibition of Scotch dancing in the main : hall, which was watched and enjoyed ' by a large crowd. To-night, in the concert chamber at : the Show, a grand concert will be i given by a parly of Caledonian enler'l taincrs. At the Alexandra Hall the factory managers and judges will be tendered a smoke concert by the As-. sociation.
