Trip to tho Zoo. On Friday the parents and children of To liowhai, numbering 100, together with 20 from the Hotokauri district, made the trip to the Auckland Zoo. Contrary to expectations, the weather was line, and a most enjoyable day was spent. A noticeable feature of the outing was the manner in which the railway, tramway and Zoo officials went out of their way to ensure a successful outing. The Railway Department had special tickets printed, and the stationmaster at Frankton and other railway officials were most | courteous and helpful. On arriving at Auckland the party was met by a tramway inspector and escorted to special cars, which were also available at 3 o’clock to bring the crowd back. At the Zoo those in charge rendered every assistance, even ringing a bell at 3 o'clock to remind the children that timo was up. The trip back by train showed many tired hut happy youngsters, and no doubt the day will remain long in their memories as one of tho happiest they have ever spent. The School Committee and teachers went with tho children, who were driven over to liorotiu and back by local car-owners, to whom the thanks of the parents are due. Football Match. On Saturday a match between To Kowliai and United Juniors was played in Mr Handley’s paddock. The match was very even, as the score, 3 all, showed. After the match the visitors were entertained at afternoon tea by the ladies of the district.
