CHOPPING WEEK.

Sir, —The shopping week and display of New Zealand goods arranged for' early in May, is. no dcinld, a slop in the right direction; in farl. a universal appeal for Ilie support of Now Zealand, or at least British industries would not he amiss. While the organisers are on Ihe job, I would suggest a reminder'that the residents should lie, Jlrslly. loyal to the town where they gain their livelihood. H is common knowledge Hint ihe people of Hamilton spend many hundreds of pounds annually in Auckland and other too well-fed centres. The monetary gain may he a very small one, but, on the other hand, il is jeopardising the credit and general well-being of ihe I own which should he their tirst consideration. In many cases trading ;iway may he due to thoughtlessness, and'a lii'lio judicious reminding may have a very valuable effect for the future of Hamilton. —1 am, cle.. NATIVE.
