Mr I Gunn, who is the Waikato delegate to the New Zealand Hockey Station at Christchurch. has been appointed to the Management Committee of that body. : Tho ladies' and men's associations are arranging to run an extravaganza on Wednesday, May 4, *q raise funds towards entertaining the visiting In'At'the weekly meeting of the local association on Thursday numerous sub-committees were set up to deal with the arrangements for the Indian visit. , ~ It was decided that a member of the Waikato executive be in Auckland when the tourists arrive to ascertain what special arrangements will he necessary for their housing and entertainment. A deputation from the Waipa Association was in Hamilton on Wednesday evening, and met representatives of the local association to discuss llu boundaries as proposed by the former association. The result of the discussion will be considered next Wednesday evening. The Hamilton Rugby Union has very generously decided to suspend its senior games on Saturday, May 15, on the occasion of the Indian Army visit. This action is greatly appreciated by the local association.

Teams are reminded that it is necessary for them to provide a ball for each game. An extract from the annual report of the Auckland Hockey Association reads as follows: —"It is with regret that we have to report that owing to lack of entries the school competitions had to be abandoned. This is a matter of vital importance to the game, and it is to be hoped that this year officials, clubs, players, and supporters will use every endeavour to have these competitions reinstated." The New Zealand Mitilary authorities are lending every assistance in connection with supply of gear for the Indian Army team.
