PROSPECTS FOR MEAT.

BEEF REGAINS ITS PLACE. BRITAIN'S FAVOURITE JOINT. REDUCED CONTINENTAL DEMAND. (Sydney Sun Cable.) (Received March 16, 9.5 a.m.) LONDON, March 15. Beef has again become England’s favourite joint, states Weddell’s Export Review. The . reduced Continental demand diverted an unexpectedly larger supply of frozen beef lo England, thus preventing prices rising. There is no immediate evidence of a world's scarcity of meat and it is expected Home supplies will lie normal. Ample supplies of Home-killed mutton and lamb arc already assured for 1926, and Argentine and Uruguay shipmenls may be heavier. Assuming Britain settles the industrial crisis there should he a considerable increase in ihc consumptive demand for ai! kinds of meat at the lower level of prices.
