The Wairarapa rifle meeting at Papawai was continued to-day in fine weather, with a light breeze blowing. Results:—

Nix, 2S, 7s Gd; Miss Allan, 2G, ss; Miss Nix, 26, 2s Gd. Four others competed. EMPIRE COMPETITIONS. LONDON, March 13. The National Rifle Association has announced the result of the Empire rifle shooting competition for the King's trophies. The results are:— Imperial Challenge Shield. —South Africa, 1 (average 76 per flrer); Britain, 2 (71); Australia, 3 (70); New Zealand -i (07); Canada 5 (03).
The Royal Australian Naval Reserve, Hobart, won the Senior Imperial Shield; the Lawrence Military School Cadets, Swanar, India, the Junior Imperial Shield. The Western Canada College Cadet Corps Calgary, won Earl Jellcoe's sword; and the Beaumont House School, Herons Gate, Hertfordshire, Earl llaig's sword.
