THE LAW'S DELAY.
PROTEST BY SOLICITORS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. A chorus of protect, is being raised by Chirstchurch lawyers against the adjournments of licensing cases. Some very pointed comment was made today in the Magistrate's Court, when two justices of the peace were on the bench. Attention was drawn to the cost and waste. of time involved in bringing witnesses from the country for cases that were frequently adjourned. The two magistrates are often engaged elsewhere, and justices are unable to deal with licensing cases. The lawyers said that their clients and witnesses were suffering an injustice. Another magistrate was needed.
