Children's Afternoon. An unusual, though none the less pleasing function, took place on/Thursday afternoon, at the Maungatautari Hall, when the school committee saw fit to present the Proficiency Class with a prize for go.od work clone during the year, and to mark an important epoch of their lives, the finish of their proficiency schooling.. Each child received his or her prize amid much applause from those present. Mr Nobbs suitably thanked the committee for their kind thought for the children. It was also decided that those children who had attended school every day this year should be given a certificate. Mr Nobbs said that there were six who were entitled to these. Afternoon tea was then dispersed among the children, which they did full justice to.
