UNREST IN TUNIS.
TROUBLE FOR FRANCE. DEMAND FOR INDEPENDENCE. FOMENTED BY COMMUNISTS. (Tim.es.-) LONDON, November 27, The Pari? correspondent of the Times report? th?t a disquieting situation has arisen in the French protectorate of Turns. It is now admitted, he says, that the Young Tunisian movement is taking definite shape and, with Communist encouragement, is assuming the character of a national demand for Independence. M. Luoien Saint, the French Resi-dent-General in Tunis, has come to Paris specially to discuss the situation. He has had lengthy conferences with the Premier (M, Herriot). Secrecy is maintained, but it is understood that M- Herriot has ordered an official inquiry into affairs in Tunis.
