The steam drifter Presholme was driven ashore on the preoipitous coast near Port Lcthen and broke up in ten minutes. Five of the crew were drowned. Three took refuge on 3 wave-swept rook and were heroically rescued by a fisherman named Craig, aged 72, who leaped from rook to rook with a iine and hauled them to safety. Many small crait were in peril in the storm and there were a number of thrilling lifeboat rescues.
