RECEIVED MAXIMUM MARKS.
For .the first lime in the history of the Chrfst.churcli competitions, a judge. Mr Montgomery Stuart, awarded full points to a competitor of exceptional merit. In (be 14 years' existence of the society this establishes a record'. The competitor was Miss Mary Coolcy, of Wellington, who achieved her triumph in the Dominion lest recital. Brooke's "Lost Cover." The judge said be bad been completely swept away by the reciter, whose voice was tike the rich notes of the 'cello. "That is art,'' he said, "and the only thing I can do is to give her 100 marks."
