Despite most inclement weather there was a large attendance of dairymen from all parts of the Waikato, and the slrong competition for cows of good type and quality plainly demonstrated that 'buyers require the best, and are willing to pay the price. On the oilier hand it is evident that inferior and even ordinary dairy cows without fairly good records are of litlle value, and can practically be classed as stores. Best cows realised from £l3 10s to £2O, one readied £25, others £7 10s to £ll 10s, an average of £l2 Cs for 58. Two-year-old heifers, in calf, £lO to £l3 10s; yearling heifers, £1 19s to £3 ss.
