The most remarkable Milking Machine exhibit at the Waikato Winter Show is undoubtedly that of Messrs D. McL. Wallace Ltd., "The Wallace," which is situated in the motor hall. The stand itself is nicely got up and the machinery is well displayed, but the remarkable thing from the farmers' point of view is the great value which is being offered in this machine. The materials of which it is composed are shown in the raw before the nickelling or tinning goes on, and it is easily seen that nothing but the very highest class of material is used. The releaser, which is untinned for exhibition purposes, is seen to be of the best heavy gauge copper with strong solid brass fittings and put together in a, very workmanlike manner. It is a releaser that will not be or converted in'a.'few years' time. Willi* care it should last a lifetime. Some of the unfinished pulsatoris, are shown and it is seen that they are solid gunmetal. This material will not corrode or rust and they will last a lifetime. The teat cups are all of tough drawn brass and will stand Plenty of knocking about on concrete floors and will never corrode or become eaten away by the action of milk.. The milk pipe, claws, down drops, taps and all other metal, fittings that come in contact with the milk are of the best brass, non-corrosive and highly nickelled. The rubberware and all other fittings and parts are the very best procurable and anyone buying the Wallace is secure in the knowledge that they get the best material that is put into milking machines, and that the materials put into their sheds are exactly the same as that exhibited at the Show. A glance at the machine itself shows that everything is well finished, and Messrs D. McL. Wallace Ltd. assure us that they erect and finish their machines in the shed, just as well as they do in. the show. The plant works smoothly and the experienced farmer sees /immediately that it follows along the lines .long since proved satisfactory in Milking Machine practice. It is priced-at a very low' figure and' farmers may be- heard all over the show building discussing the low price and remarkable value being offered in the Wallace Machine." Several machines are already installed and giving every satisfaction. They milk quickly and cleanly and without injury to the

cows. The prices, which are as follows: — 2-cow Plant ... £B4 3-cow Plant . . . £94 , 4-cow Plant -• £lO4 5-cow Plant £H4 '6-cbW Plant . . .. £124

are plainly exhibited on the stand and this is an innovation much appreciated by the farmers.

' There is no getting away from the good material, the satisfactory working and the low price of the "Wallace Milking Machine." A good range of engines, Lister; Anderson and Capel, are exhibited and farmers may make a good choice among these three, but other engines may be- procured if desired. • The well-known Alfa-Laval Separates are also on exhibit and in conjunction with them the Pye Friction Clutch Pulley. This is a new invention, and is creating a. lot. of interest. It is strong and substantially made and will do anything that any friction clutch pulley will do on a separator and will do -some things that other clutch Pulleys' will not do. It may be screwed up hard and tight and the electric motor or engine started up and never a jar on the separator or bowl. It should be seen to be. appreciated, and every farmer, whether separating or not, should see t/his pulley. The price is £4 15/-. For the farmer who wishes to test his cows the W. & S. (weighing and sampling) Machine is on view. This machine provides a very simple and accurate means of getting the weight and a sample of the milk from th 3 individual cow when using milking machines. The weight of milk and sample is obtained, and the milk then released through the releaser without loss of time. The machine is now priced at £5.
