FRIESIAN BREEDERS.
SOUTH AUCKLAND SOCIETY. The annual meeting of. the South Auckland Friesian Breeders' Society was held yesterday when Colonel Allen (Morrinsville) presided over a i'airly representative attendance. In his opening remarks the chairman said that during the past year some difficulty had been experienced In collecting subscriptions. The .Friesian ' Show, he continued, was a credit to | the sub-committee (Messrs M. :0. I Kldd, M. Hodgson and S. Clements), i appointed to make the necessary ar- ' raugements. On returning thanks for his rcelcetion the president said that tie hoped the new executive would be ns energetic, in their endeavours to promote tiie interests of the breed as* the past members had been. SHOW CHAT. The New Zealand Slnfrlhorn Society held their annual smoke concert last evening, when the're was a large and roproncntati.c attendance of breeders from ail parts of the Dominion. Mr A. V.'. Green presided over a convivial company. An excellent programme of musical and vocal items vvas arranged, and altogether a most enjoyable time was spent. Ir. our report of the Winter Show smoke concert, in yesterday’s issue, it was inadvertently stated that the total export of butter from [.ho Auckland province a few years ago was “oniy eOOO toils.” This should have read 500 tons, a comparison which stands out Mill more'dearly against the presentday tola! of 3 0,000 tons.
