AYRSHIRE BREEDERS.

MEETING AT HAMILTON. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Ayrshire Breeders' Association was held last evening, and was attended by aboui 100 members and special guests. The president, Mr A. H. Hansen, occupied the chair. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £;i00, and the president took the opportunity of congratulating the association on Hie healthy slate of the finances. The annual report was adopted unanimously. The election of officers resulted:— Patron, Mr 11. Gillies; president, Mr A. H. Hansen; vice-presidents, Messrs A. M. Weir, F. Mills, and Marshall; treasurer, Mr T. Webb; committee, Messrs C. B. Morgan, C. Webb, J. Bowden, D. A. Stewart, G. Carter, J. Ailcheson and R. M. Somerville; secretary, Mr R. 11. Spencer.

The next annual meeting was fixed to be held in Palmerston North, and the town in which executive meetings should be held will lie decided later. Every endeavour is to he made to obtain a judge from Australia for Hie Boyal Agricultural Show to be held in Palmerston North next year. Much discussion look place, on matters concerning the interests of the association, and the meeting closed with a hearty vote of thanks to all who had assisted during the past, year. The meeting then adjourned to the supper-room, where an enjoyable smoke concert was held, the following being the. order of the programme:—■ Toast, r" The King," proposed by the president; song, Mrs C. Watt; toast, "Ayrshire Breeders," proposed by.Mr E. A. Robertson, and responded to by Messrs A. M. Weir (Southland) and F. Mills (Hawera) ; songs, Messrs W. Allen and R. Cook; duet, Messrs Powell Bros.; toast, "Kindred Societies," proposed by Mr R. M. Somerville, responded lo by Mr Melville; songs, Mr Drake, and Mr Beehe; toast. " The Press," proposed by Mr Pollard, responded lo by Messrs C. A. Cuming and Packard; recitation, Mr T. Wallace. The accompaniments throughout the evening were played by Mr A. Payne.
