THE COMPETITIONS.
To the Editor. Sir.—The competitions have started, and it may be as well to utter a “word” to a certain class of frequenters. Last year a few selfstyled -self-satisfied-no-one-can-beat-me-critics got together and during the item, whatever it was, talked to one another, and made comments that were audible to all around and most disconcPriffsg to 'the performers. Such action from children would he met with a severe spanking from any parent who did his duty, but in this case the persons concerned are parents themselves, and to say the least of it their action is infra dig. Everyone is entitled to his of her own opinion, but they are not entitled, neither is it considered good manners, to air those views to all within ear-shot, whether they want to hear it or not. At this morning’s competitions I noticed the same thing from the same people, and I suggesi if it doesn’t stop, qncl the persons concerned do not behave themselves, their names be published. In that? case I would publish mine, but in the meantime may I direct attention to the nolic-e that appears in the hall anu I sign myself SILENCE. Hamilton, May 6, 1924.
