THE SUMMER SHOW.

NOVEMBER DATES FIXED, MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE. At the last meeting of the executive of the Waikato A. and P. Association, Mr R. F. Sedclon presided. The secretary of the Palmerston North Association advised that it had been agreed at the last, meeting of the conference of the New Zealand A. and P. Associations that a levy of 5s per hundred paid up subscriptions ho charged each association affiliated with the conference, which amount was agreed to by the meeting. The Council of Agriculture advised that the annual conference will he held in Wellington on July 16 and 17 and asked the Association to appoint delegates and to forward remits, if any. It was decided to ask the Hon R. F. Bollard and Mr J. A. Young, M.P.’s to represent the Association. The Hamilton Rugby Union was granted the use of the grounds in the polo paddock, as usual. The South Auckland Football Association was granted the use of the grounds in front of the main stand at Claudelands with provision that on receiving a week’s notice if the ground is required for representative matches or for other purposes at present unforseen, the ground must be relinquished for such occasions. A letter was received from the secretary advising that November 1,5, and 6 had been fixed as the dates for the first Royal Show at Palmerston North. Wednesday and Thursday (November 19 and 20) were decided on as the dates for the Association’s next show. Grounds, finance, entertaining and canvassing committees were set up. Mr Newell brought up the question whether a sheep trial should be held or not, and it was agreed that Mr Newell and the secretary report od the matter at the next meeting.

The s-ecretary was instructed to obtain particulars from the architect in regard to the cost of erecting another building similar to the new cattle shed already there.
