The controversy over Zev and My \ Own, the pair which are to race to decide the one to meet the English three-year-old, Papyrus in the test in America, is assuming large. proportions, and is agitating Amdrican sporting circles.— Mr. Samuel Hildreth, the owner of Zev,- declares’ that due to the fact that his horse lost a piece of the frog off his forefoot in a recent race, and consequent drop in his training, he is not fit to engage in a mile and a-half race, but is -able to meet My Own over nine furlongs... Admiral Grayston, . ex-Presidcnt Wilson’s private physician, and the owner of My Own, declared that it would be folly to have horses meet for a distance that at which the winner will meet Papyrus, and he therefore insists on a one mile and half race. Meanwhile many rumours are being circulated, some to the effect that both horses have suffered collapses, and are unfit to participate' in any strenuous tests.
