MOTUMAOHO.
Dairy Farmers’ Union. A well attended meeting of th« Motumaoho Branch of the Dairy Farmers’ Union was held in the Hall on the 22nd September, Mr B. U. Barlow presiding. Mr T. C. Grace, Dominion Secretary was also present. The urgent need of an up-to date, and conveniently situated ladies rest room in Morrinsville was again discussed. The lack of such accommodation doubtless drives much business to other centres and hopes are entertained that the Morrinsville Borough Council will soon establish this long felt want.
The provision of the newspaper “Advance” devoted to the interests of the Union, the first issue of which was recently published, received very favourable comment, and will prove a very important medium in the exchange of views, and in furthering the interests of the Union and dairy farmers generally. Mr T. G. Grace addressed the meeting on various matters dealing with the expansion of the Union, formation of Provincial and Dominion Executives, organisation, farmers finance, immigration, land policy purchase of pure bred bulls, Dairy Control Act, and the need for unity and individual effort to further the interests of the Union, which was now so firmly established and must In future hike a leading part in the advancement of the dairying industry.
A resolution was unanimously carried expressing confidence in the Union and strongly supporting its land settlement policy. A hearty vote of thanks accorded Mr Grace for his able and interesting address concluded a real good meeting.
