MOTUMAOHO.
Dairy Farmers’ Union.
The monthly meeting of the Motumaoho branch of the Dairy Farmers’ Union held in the Hall was presided over by Mr B. U. Barlow. The secretary reported having written to the Morrinsvil'le Borough Council requesting that a ladies’ rest room be provded in the town, and their reply w T as read but members considered it unsatisfactory, and it was decided to again write to the Council stating the inadequacy of the present arrangements.
The Farmers’ Auctioneering Company had also been written to regarding the state of the pig pens at the Morrinsville yards, and their reply was to the effect that this is in hand to he attended to, and members stated that the improvements are now being carried out
Mr Barlow suggested that the monthly meetings of the branch should be changed to moonlight evenings, and accordingly it was resolved that the meetings be held on the Saturday nearest before the full moon.
School Committee. The usual monthly meeting of the School Committee was held, in the school on the 13th inst. There were present Messrs G. Gibbs (chairman), W. J. Winter, L. Woodersen and G. Spencer. Mr Bluett was absent through illness.
At a previous meeting the Committee had recommended that the school monitors should be selected monthly by the chfldren, and the headmaster reported that this is being carried out. Mr Kelly advised the Committee that he is anxious to get pictures for the school walls and more books for the Dalton system, and he asked the support of the Committee to a collection being made by the children for this purpose.—The Committee were quite in sympathy with this and decided to support St. Any amount collected will carry £ for £ subsidy from the Board.
An inspection report received stated that all school work is going on satisfactorily, the drill being excellent. School Football [Watch. A football match between the Eureka and Motumaoho Schools took place at Eureka on Saturday, August 18. Mr George Baker acted as referee and the game resulted in a win for Eureka by 36 points. Mr Baker also kindly conveyed the boys to Eureka and back, and afternoon tea was provided for the visitors.
