! METROPOLITAN TROTS. SECOND DAY'S RESULTS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. The Metropolitan trots were continued in dull weather. The course is in good, order. Results: — Improvers' Handicap, 1 mile 5 furlongs.—Red Oak (scr.) 1, Okuti (scr.) 2 Merry Peter (48yds) 3. Scratched: Tipperary, Queen Ida, and Kcan John. Won by two lengths. Time, 3.54 4-5.

Christchurch Dash Handicap, one mile. —Childe Pointer, 1; Xavier, 36 yds, 2; Rorke's Drift, scr., 3 All started. Won by two lengths. Time, 2.16.

King George Handicap, two miles. — Taraire, 60yds, 1; Wild Thyme, scr., 2; Star Queen, scr., 3. Scratched: Steel Bell. Won by a length. Time -1.29 4-5.

Master Peter had a slight advantage a\ the last fence, hut Oakleigh wore him down, and won by a length, with First Line six lengths away third, followed by Whipcord, Red Gent, and. Omahu in that order. Time, 7.10 2-5. Zeus, Staff Officer, Explorer and Dick fell.

Enfield Steeplechase, about 2 miles. —Mettle Drift (9.0) 1, Noble (11.0; 2, Blue Hall (9.2) 3. Scratched: Multive. Won by two lengths. Time, ■i.l 2-5. Only the placed horses finished.
