DEMANDS IN AUSTRALIA,

The Australian Workers' Union has applied lo ttie Federal Arbitration Court for a variation of the pastoral award, claiming increases from 3.is to £3 per Uhl for shearing, and from £3 10s, with keep, to £i>. wild keep, weekly for adult shed-hands. It is expected the claims will be heard at Hi,- height of the shearing season.
