THE RABBIT NUISANCE.
ADVANCES FOR NETTING
SECURITY FOR THE COUNTIES.
While in Wellington the Waipa County delegates interviewed the Hon. B. F. Bollard, Minister for Internal Affairs, and asked that additional scope be given to section 303 of the Counties Act, making amounts advanced by county councils for rabbit-netting a first charge on the land.
In reporting on these representations yesterday, Cr. Alexander informed the Council that there was no doubt this would he done, -as the Minister and the under-secretary of the department had quite appreciated the point that it was necessary for local bodies to have complete security for moneys advanced for this purpose.
