CRITIC THRASHED.
Frau Marie Abicht-Baucr, the Gorman opera singer, has been dealing fiercely with one of her critics. She met tiim in the High St. at, Linz on the Danube, whore she had appeared in "The Gipsy. Baron," and took him to task for the disagreeable notice he had written about her performance in the local papers.
He told her icily that iho could not discuss the matter in the public street. There was nothing icy about the opera singer. She clenched her lists and began to give the critic a drubbing.
Being even more disinclined lo light with a woman in the street ttian he was to discuss art with her, he got hold of her hands and held her tightly until passers-by came to Hie rescue.
Then the critic lit a cigarette and strolled to the police station, where he took out a summons against Frau Abicht for assault.
