A SUBMARINE ERUPTION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. AUCKLAND, Monday. Captain Davey, of the Tofua, describing the submarine eruption, said that about twenty miles north-north-west of Nukualofa the sea was a pale green patch about half a mile in area. There -was a dense cloud of steam about a hundred feet in diameter and the same height, and lesser vapours at a much higher altitude. The sea around was very agitated, in fact boiling. No debris was observable. A day earlier a sharp earthquake was felt at Nukualofa.
