VESSEL PUTS BACK.
ONLY FEW DAYS DELAY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. WELLINGTON, Saturday. The Commonwealth Dominion liner .Port Auckland, which sailed from Lyttelton to London via Las Palmas on June 20, loaded with. 7000 tons of general cargo, zinc concentrates, wool, and six passengers, and put back when 1700 miles out, berthed at Wellington at 9 o'clock this morning for examination and repairs, if necessary. The ship ran into an exceptionally heavy easterly gale. The extent of the damage, if any, is now being ascertained by a survey. The manager of the company states that he does not anticipate more than a few days' delay at Wellington.
