ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
FOOTBALLER'S LEG BROKEN. During the Frankton-Marists Rugby match, played at Steele Park on Saturday, Len. Hunt, the Maris! half-back, sustained a fractured right leg at the ankle. .The accident occurred in the final quarter of the game when Hunt, who had the ball in his possession, stumbled, and the fracture occurred during- the fall. Tho sufferer was conveyed to Hie Waikato Hospital, where lie is making good progress.
WAIHI, Saturday
Mr Frank McLean, the unfortunate victim of tlin recent, explosion accident in the Wailii mine, is reported to have lost tho sight of his right eye. It is doubtful whether lie will retain the sight of his left eye.
