BOXING.
ELTHAM TOURNAMENT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. ELTHAM, Monday. The Eltham Boxing Association held a tournament on Saturday night. Seven bouts were staged, the contests being willingly fought out, except the welter weight, wherein the referee stopped the light in the first round, awarding tho decision to O’Brien over Pcarse to save a knock-out. The chief interest centred in the six-round challenge bout in the featherweight division, between A. Humphries and C. Coulter, Taranaki, featherweight champion. The light went the full length, and was strenuous. Humphries got a popular win on points. Feather - weiffht: Morgan beat Coombc. Light-weight: McWhirter beat Mercer; Cadman beat Watcrson; Blennerhassett drew with Measor. Welter-weight: O’Brien beat Pearse. Bantam-weight: Childs beat Bocock.
