DEMAND FOR ALL .CARDS. BRITAIN’S MEMORANDUM. REASON FOR FRENCH DELAY. Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn. LONDON, June 22. The Nation says the delay in replying to the British questionaire is by no means wholly due to the Belgian crisis, but the questionaire is so comprehensive and so searching that the French Government might reasonably demand considerable time to prepare an answer. The British demand is admirably designed to secure that M. Poincare’s cards should be placed face up on the table. Unless the questions arc answered by studied evasions, we should have a complete and intelligible statement as to what France is really aiming at.
