CHINESE AFFAIRS.
A BRITISH PROPOSAL. V Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn. Received June 22, 12.30 p.m. TOKIO, June 20. Japan’s Charge d’Affaires at Peking lias reported that the British Minister has suggested that the Powers should maintain a guard on the principal Chinese trains, but the majority of diplomats do not favour the suggestion, Japan particularly opposing hasty intervention.
