HUNGARY’S STRAITS. _ BURDEN OF REPARATION. A PROBLEM FOR THE LEAGUE. Australian and N.Z, Cable Assn. LONDON, May 22. The Paris correspondent of the' Times writes that Hungary stands crushed under the burden of reparations, and liens on its assets and revenues. Unless these bo suspended to enable a foreign loan t-o be floated, tho country will speedily follow in the wake of Austria. The British and Italian Covennnents arc favourable to the suspension of liens, but other nations are not yet agreed on the subject, which will be thrashed out at the League of Nations’ meeting oh Wednesday. The opinion is expressed that without a foreign loan there is no possible chance of averting a financial debacle in Hungary, with inevitable repercussions in neighbouring States and the rest of Europe. nesfet
