COUNTY COUNCILS
ANNUAL MEETINGS. ELECTION OF CHAIRMEN. The annual meetings of the County Councils were held to-day. The following were elected chairmen for the ensuing year:— Waikato. i Cr. 3. P. Bailey (re-elected). Matamata. Councillors Anderson, Stopford, Allen and Pohlen were proposed for the chairmanship. The three latter would not accept, to allow Mr Anderson to be re-elected. Mr Anderson entered the Council in 1911, and has been chairman since 1913. Piako. Mr F. W. Walters was re-elected. Waipa. Mr Stewart Reid (re-elected).
