BUILDINGS FOR MARCH.
PERMITS TOTAL £14,819, TRADE KEEPrNG UP. The Ruilding Inspector submitted to the Hamilton Borough Council at its meeting last evening a return of permits issued for buildings for the month ended March 31. The report concerned 21 dwellings, •20 being in wood of [he value of £lO,910, and on.' in other material of the value of £990. Seven alterations and additions to dwellings, to the value of £845, were also on the list. Permits for six new business premises and public buildings, totalling £966, and for alterations and additions to 10 others of the value of £llOB were also sanctioned during the month. The total permits for new buildings were 27, of the value of £12,806, and Tor 17 alterations and additions totalling £2o:>3, making <l-i permits of the / value of £ii,Bl9.
The Mayor, before the Council received the report, remarked that the record was an excellent one, and showed that building was keeping up in the town in a wonderful way.
