LORD OF WESTERN ISLES.
GAELIC SOCIETY'S PROTEST. VISCOUNT LEVERIIULME OBDURATE (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) LONDON, March G. Lord Leverhulmc, replying to the secretary of the Gaelic Society, protesting against his assumption thereof, declines to delete "Western Isles" from his title. He adds that letters lie has received from representatives of three-quarters of the Western Isles indicate that deletion would give greater offence there than satisfaction to those who want the words removed.
The Gaeliq Society objected to Viscount Levcrhulme assuming the title of Lord of the Western Isles on account of the historic associations'of the title Lord of the. Isles formerly borne by Scottish Kings.
