BUTTER AND CHEESE.
THE QUANTITIES GRADED DAIRY DIVISION'S*"FIGURES. By Telegraph.—Press Association, WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The figures of the dairy division of the Agricultural Departmeat show that salted butter graded for February, 1923, was 140,593 cwt, unsalted 10,341 cwt, compared with a total of 103,790 cwt for February last year, an increase of 45.42 per cent. For the seven months ended February, 1923, the respective quantities were 982,454 cwt and 66,042 cwt, compared with a total of 737,781 cwt, an increase of 42.11 per cent. Cheese graded for February, 1923, comprised white 110,408 cwt, coloured 59,252 cwt, compared with 176,357 cwt for February, 1922, a decrease of 3.76 per cent. The totals for thS seven months ended February, 1523, were white 536.555 cwt, c&murcd 298,175 cwt, compared %\lth 892,915 cwt, a decrease of 6.51 per cent. Converting these figures into butterfat equivalent, there is an increase of 24.68 per cent in buttcrfat production for the seven months, as compared with the corresponding period for 1921-22.
