The value of Ui e oil-bearing shale in New South Wales lias been the subject of a letter to the Federal Prime Minister (Mr Hughes), from Mr F. 11. Molesworth, public analyisl and assayer. The writer asks, on behalf of the people of Australia, that file Commonwealth Government should make a thorough unbiassed inquiry into tlie whole matter, as tie had seen estimates that the shale deposits would yield a big supply of oil for three hundred years
