TIPPING COMPETITION LEGAL.
AN ADELAIDE DECISION.

ADELADE, November 21
Mr Judge Noole upheld the decision of the Police Court that no bet was involved in a tipping competition conducted by the paper “Sports,’’ which offered £SO each week for the- most successful tipster at the weekly race meetings. The judge held that as each competitor paid a shilling, which the defendant did not. stand to lose, no gamble was involved. The winner of the competition had to render service for £SO, which he considered of equivalent value.
