SISTINE CHOIR SOLOISTS

MEMORABLE SEASON CLOSES. What must be regarded as a memorable season in every respect—quality of programme submitted, attendance of public, and enthusiasm displayed—• was brought to a close by the Sistine Choir Soloists, at the Theatre Royal, Hamilton, last night. The hall was again crowded, and as musical gem followed-musical gem, the audience became wildly demonstrative. Outstanding performances were the singing by the Choir of the Pilgrims’ Chorus from “Tannhauser,” and the popular “Funicoli —Funicola,” and the solos of Signors Paganelli (the delightful lyric tenor), Rasponi (baritone), and Facchini (robust tenor). Each of the soloists was reoalled again and again, and at the close of the concert there was a .wonderful display of enthusiasm,. prolonged.applause culminating in an. outburst of cheering. - Three hearty cheers were given for the Soloists, and the latter responded with three for the audience. The National Anthem brought to a close an evening of pure delight. The Soloists caught the Main Trunk express at Frankton last night for Wanganui. Local music-lovers will be pleased to learn that in all probability they will return to Hamilton after the Southern tour.
