- JUNIOR FINAL. ___ . HIGH SCHOOL BEAT KARAMU. The final of the junior championship ’of the Hamilton Union was played at Whatawhata yesterday afternoon between High School and Karamu. The former won by 9 points to 6 points. The game was a very even one, but the winners' backs showed the superior finish on the day. MOABCAR CUP FINAL: WIN FOR GRAMMAR SCHOOL. CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. N The final game in the competition secondary schools of the Doriinion was played here this afternoon, when Auckland Grammar defeated Southland High by 16 points to 9 points. Grammar led by 5 poinfs to nil at half-time. Some very bright play was witnessed during the match. WANGANUI v. NELSON. NELSON, Wednesday. After a fast and interesting game, especially in the second half, the Wanganui team defeated Nelson at the Botanical Reserve by 13 points to. 8. ■ - \ SYDNEY UNIVERSITIES BEATEN. EASY WIN FOR OTAGO. DUNEDIN, Wednesday. The match to-day between Otago and Sydney Universities was played in beautiful weather, before an attendance of 8000 persqns. The game resulted in a hollow win for Otago, whose backs in the second spell dominated the play. The game was one of the most spectacular exhibitions of passing ever seen here. In the first half the play did not reach a particularly high standard, opportunities being missed by both sides by faulty handling of the backs. The spell ended 10 points to 6 In . favour of Otago. In the second spell Otago added 25 points, while the visitors only added one unconverted try. The scorers for Otago were: Mackereth (2), Diokson (2), Cabot, Stewart..-and Harty (one each). Four tries were convertd by Kingston. Tries were obtained for the visitors by Woodhead, Taylor and Foote, none being converted..
