At Brookline (Massachusetts) at the National Amateur Golf Championship meeting in the qualifying round Gardiner (America) was first with a card of 71 and Torrence (Britain) second with 72. Other British players’ scores were: .—Tolley, 74; Tyarncr, 76; Cavern, 73; MacKenzie, 79; Hooman, 81; Darwin, 82; and Wethered, 83.
