SENATOR KNOX DEAD
SUCCUMBS TO A STROKE. Received October 13, 8.40 p-m. WASHINGTON, October 12. Senator Philander Knox, Pennsylvania, died from a paralytic stroke while on his way to the dining room in his home here this evening. He returned from England yesterday after a three-weeks’ health trip, feeling well. He is an cx-Secretary of Slate, and served under Presidents McKinley, Roosevelt and Taft. He was the author of the peace resolutions in the Senate.
