BIG BAZAAR CONTINUED, CONCLUSION THIS EVENING. The Bazaar in the Winter Show buildings, in aid of the Band Queen, Mrs H. G. Ross, was continued yesterday afternoon and evening. In the evening a large number of people were present, when the Hamilton Municipal Band played a number of wcll-sclccted items. Bandsman H. Brown, a winner at 'the Thames Contest, rendered a soprano cornet solo, “0 Lovely Night.” Early in the evening elocutionary competitions for children under 14 ycars//werc held, the girls’ recitation resulting as follows: —Oncore Rutherford (57 points) 1, Lilian Valder (52 points) 2, Doreen Sandford (47 points) •‘L The boys’ competition attracted only one entry, Neil Wilson, who, however, was awarded 57 points out of a possible GO, and won a special prize. ' Basket ball was played by a number of girls, the (Inals resulting:—Old Girls G v. High School 3; junior grade, High School S v, Hamilton East 2. An interesting exhibition of Japanese ju-jitsu was given by St. Peter’s Boy Scout troop under (tic direction of District Scoutmaster Brown. This evening a concert programme has been arranged, and, added to the presence of the Band, and numerous other attractions, should ensure a very enjoyable ending to what iias already proved a successful bazaar. The boys’ boxing competition which will lake place tiiis evening is one of the attractive events that has been arranged by the committee. Judging by enquiries that have been made, both tlie public and competitors are keenly interested. The event will commence at 7.30, and will be conducted by the Waikato Boxing Association. MINSTRELS AT NGARUAWAHIA. Last evening a Nigger Minstrel Troupe, composed of Hamilton artists, paid a visit to Ngaruawahia, where they held a, concert in aid of the Tennis Queen’s fund. The hail was I well filled and the. performance was a creditable one, being much appreciated by 1.1i.0 audience. After the concert, the ladies of the Ngaruawahia Tennis Club entertained the visitors to supper.
