MARAROA DELAYED
BY ENGINE TROUBLE. (By Telegraph.— Press Association). WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The ferry steamer Mararoa, which left Wellington at 7.50 last night for Lyttelton, had proceeded alioul two miles outside the Heads when a l»eakflowu in the engines compelled her to stop. The tugs Terawhiti, Pelican and Natone at once proceeded to the scene. IThe vessel had not drifted appreciably. There was a liwht breeze blowing off the shore and a smooth sea. The conditions were therefore completely favourable for the vessel's safety. She had 130 passengers. At 1.50 a.in. the Mararoa was able 'to continue her journey south. The tans returned to the wharf.
