FAT STOCK SALES. LATE VALUES SUSTAINED. (By Telegraph.—Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Wednesday. Messrs Buckland and Co. report:— To-day at our weekly Westiield fat stock market, our supply of fat cattle totalled 507 head, comprising 434 steers, 71 cows and heifers, and two bulls. There were many lines of heavy prime steers, and the quality generally of the ox beef was equal to anything ever offered at Westfield. Competition was steady throughout, last week's values being easily sustained and in odd cases exceeded. Extra choice ox fell to £1 15s; choice and prime ox, £1 8s to £1 13s; ordinary and plain, £1 to £1 7s; rough, 8s to Lis. Prime young cow and heifer beef brought £1 5s to £1 10s, and ordinary cow beef 19s to £1 4s. Extra heavy prime steers ranged iff price from £l6 to £l7 2s fid. Hi' latter price for a pen of four steers from Mr John Irwin, Awhitu. Heavy prime steers brought £l3 10s to £ls 15s. Heavy prime young cows and heifers were sold from £8 to £10; lighter £5 10s to £7 10s, and others £1 to £5 ss. LONDON WOOL SALES. KEEN COMPETITION. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) LONDON, October li. At (tie B.A.W.R.A. wool sales 11,072 bales were catalogued, of which 4513 were New Zealand. There was an excellent anil representative selection, ami a crowded attendance.
