Mr C. Trigg, late licensee of the Royal Hotel, Hamilton, has leased Messrs Latta Bros, property at Okete.

His Excellency the Governor-General ("Viscount Jellicoc) and Lady Jellicoe will leave Wellington on October 2j for Wanganui. On October 27 their Excellencies will motor to New Plymonth, and on the afternoon of Friday, October 28, Lady Jellicoe will perform the official opening of the Clarke Memorial Hostel. While in Taranaki Their Excellencies propose to visit Inglewood, Waitara. and Mount Egmont, and they will leave New Plymouth for Wellington on October 31. A farewell social was tendered by the Waikato Caledonian Sports and Social Society last evening to one of the organisers of the Society, Mr W. M. Keenan, who is leaving to take up th-; position of steward at the Middlemore Golf House, Auckland. Dr Pinfold was in the chair. Mr Keenan was the recipient of a clock suitably inscribed, and Mrs Keenan of a handsome cake dish. Mr Keenan suitably acknowledged the presentations on behalf of himself and wife, and also replied to several toasts proposed in connection with his good work for the Society.
