ELECTRIC POWER BOARDS
JOINT BORROWING URGED. Would the Minister for Public Works confer with the Minister for Finance with the object of arranging loans jointly on the London market in connection with hydro-electric development, asked Mr ,T. A. Nash (Palmerston North) in Parliament. It was not necessary to tell the Minister for Public Works, because ho knew * lie position only too well, the electric power boards were becoming active, and would want to begin to order poles and other requisites for the reticulation of electricity throughout their districts. They would, he suggested, be able to raise the money much more cheaply if they united for the purpose than any individual board could do acting on its own behalf. The Hon. ,T. G. Coates said that he would be very pleased lo confer with the Minister for Finance on the subject.
